Henry Metcalfe
After completing several Arts Council commissions in dance and drama, Henry became Artistic Director of the British Dance-Drama Theatre which had a policy of bringing extensive nation-wide coverage of experimental, creative and conventional theatre arts to a wide range of children and adults. Turning freelance in 1974, he choreographed two series of 'UNDER THE SAME SUN' and 'THE LITTLE MERMAID', both for Yorkshire Television.  He has produced ballet and experirnental drama for Fri Ballet in Norway, the Rubican Theatre based in Gothenburg, Sweden, as well as touring extensively as a guest lecturer in creative drama to mature students and qualified teachers. During the past twenty years he has lectured in dance and drama at the Laban Centre in Surrey and has also, in conjunction with Pat Keysall of 'VISION ON', been instrumenntal in creating the first professional theatre group far deaf actors, mime artists and dancers. Henry Metcalfe first worked with Bill Kenwright some 16 years ago choreographing 'ALADDIN' at the New Victoria Theatre in London's West End with Bill Kenwright as director.  This marked the start of a happy association which has included collaboration on productions such as 'BIG SIN CITY', 'PADDINGTON BEAR'S MAGICAL MUSICAL', 'SWAN ESTHER AND THE KING, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR', 'HAIR', THE FABULOUS SINGLETTES', 'GOOD ROCKIN' TONITE', 'ROBIN - PRINCE OF SHERWOOD' and of course, 'JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHINICOLOR DREAMCOAT' at the Vaudeville, Sadler's Wells and Royalty Theatres, the Australian tour and legendary UK tour Henry directed and choreographed the highly successful pantomimes 'CINDERELLA' and 'ALADDIN' at the Thorndike Theatre, Leatherhead.  During the past two years, Henry has directed and choreographed several productions for Fyllingside Nye Theatre in Norway including 'GREASE', 'CHRISTMAS CAROL' and 'ALICE IN WONDERLAND'.
