Jacob

Michael G Jones

After traning at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Michael amde his London debut in the musical 'Camelot', subsequently appearing in many other West End productions, 'Fiddler on the Roof', 'Billy', 'Man of La Mancha', 'Irma La Dounce', 'Canterbury Tales', 'Treasure Island', 'Kismet', 'Annie Get Your Gun' and Mr Scoblowski in 'Daisy Pulls It Off'. He hhas appeared at Chichester Festival Theatre for six seasons, first appearing in 1983 in 'A Patriot for Me' and 'As You Like It'. In 1984 he was a member of the Studio Company appearing in five productions, 1986 in 'Annie Get Your Gun' 1989 in Patrick Garland's production of 'Victory and The Purity Game' and 'Love's Labour's Lost for Sam Mendes' in the Minerva Theatre. 1992 saw him in Kenneth Branagh's 'Coriolanus' an in 'King Lear' in New York, 'She Stoops to Conquer' and 'Venus Observed'. In 1993 he was in 'The Matchmaker' and 'Pickwick. The summer of 1996 was spent in the very happy company at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in 'Comedy of Errors', 'The Tempest' and 'Paint Your Wagon'.

Peter Lawrence

Peter has been in showbusiness all his life. As a boy he sang with the 'Singing Scholars' and toured all the major (and very minor!) music halls variety and revue. A protege of the legendary Lucan McShane (Old Mother Riley and Daughter Kitty) and the great north country comedian Frank Randle, he was privileged to work alongside most of the great performers of the day. He made his first apperance in 'Daughter Janie' at the Apollo and then after years of repertory (from the fit-up days to the big reps) he went into early television appearing in 'Quatermass', the live 'Z Cars' and many more. From 1964 'Crossroads' made his face familiar to millions of viewers (he was Detective Inspector Ribby), 'The Saint' (with Roger Moore), 'Department S' and all the popular television series followed. His many films include 'A Smashing Time', 'It's A Grand Life', and 'Ivanhoe'. His appearances in the West End include 'Pocahontas' (briefly at the Lyric), 'The Good Old Bad Old Days' with Anthony Newley (Prince of Wales Theatre), 'On The Rocks' (Mermaid Theatre), 'A Christmas Carol' (Piccadilly Theatre and Victoria Theatre, and many more. He last performed in Bill Kenwright's 'Robin Prince Of Sherwood' (national tour and Piccadilly).

Peter played Jacob for many years, sadly he died at the begining of 1998.

Tim Goodman

Tim trained at the Webber Douglas School in the sixties and acquired further experience on tour and with many of the leading provincial companies of the day, playing a wide variety of leading roles in everything from Shakespeare to musical comedy.

Tim created the role of Fyedka in the original West End cast of 'Fiddler on the Roof' and co-starred as the dashing Major Duncan in the BBC TV serial 'The Last of the Mohicans'. He starred in two other classic TV serials 'The Crocodile' for the BBC and 'Iron Horse' for ITV. Tim also made guest appearances on series such as The Protectors', 'The Parsuaders' and 'Dr Who'.

After co-starring in several tours and working in radio, the needs of a young family and the desire to exert more control over a busy but somewhat haphazard life led him into drama teaching in 1975. Tim recently took early retirement from his post as Artisic Director and Deputy Headmaster of the prestigious Arts Educational School at Tring Park in order to resume practicing what he has for so long preached about!

Andrew Jeffers

Andrew trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School for three years and graduated in 1991. Since leaving Andrew has appeared in 'The B.F.G.' in the West End and on tour, 'Fantastic Mr Fox' with Birmingham Stage Company, 'The Gingerbread Man' at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, 'How About Alice' at the New Grove, London, 'Fiddler on the Roof' at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, 'George's Marvellous Medicine' on a national tour with Birmingham Stage Company, 'Bouncers' at The Mercury Theatre, Colchester, his home town, and most recently as Lucien in 'Mme Colombe' for the London Stage Company.

Panto credits include, Barbarella Bucket, Miss Spendapenny and Dame Louella LeGrand in 'The Crazy Christmas Cabarets' for London Toast Theatre, Copenhagen, Don Cascara in 'Puss in Boots' at the Queens Theatre, Barnstaple, The King and Giant in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' with Wayne Sleep and Peggy Mount in Poole, Trevor Bannister and Kathy Staff in Redhill and in Guildford with Tim Brooke-Taylor and Robert Powell. Television credits include 'Married with Kids' (Carlton), 'Between the Lines' (BBC), 'Grange Hill' (BBC), 'Crimewatch' (BBC) and 'Eastenders' to be screened in March 2001.

Richard Ashley

Richards West End theatre credits include Herod in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (Palace), Hank/Crooner/Jordanaire in 'Elvis' (Astoria), King of Denmark in 'Hans Anderson' (Palladium) and the Cowardly lion in 'The Wizard of Oz' (Whitehall Theatre). He has played a variety of roles in Repertory including Sir Toby Belch in 'Twelfth Night', Victor Cadwallader in 'The Man Most Likely To', Bob Acres in 'The Rivals', Martin Hayne in 'Mr Fothergill's Murder', Autolycus in 'A Winter's Tale', Sir Lanclot Spratt in 'Doctor in Love', Rogers in 'And There Were None', Max Miller/Churchill/Flanagan/Handley in 'These Foolish Things', Cecil in 'Hot and Cold in All Rooms', Teddy in 'Arsenic and Old Lace', Bottom in 'Midsummer Night's Dream', Norman Bartholomew in 'Murder' and PC Box in 'PC Box in the Kingdom of the Dead'.

Film work includes 'The Return', 'Licensed to Love and Kill', 'The Recluse', 'Cloudbuster', 'The Biggest Thing to Hit Broadway', 'Dr Seamus Chevolais' and 'The Salesman'. TV work includes 'Eastenders', 'Miss Marple - 4.50 from Paddington', 'The Bright Seraphium', 'The Real Thing' (James Burke Special), 'The Day the Universe Changed' (James Burke Special), 'Paper Chase' and Columbo - Dagger of the Mind'.

James Head

James trained at the Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London and has worked extensively as an actor, singer, author and composer in theatre, film, television and radio.Theatre work includes: Jacob in the touring and West End productions of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Tom Jenkins in the original cast of SCROOGE with Anthony Newley and Jon Pertwee, going on to be the alternative Scrooge in the West End (Dominion Theatre), and then, last year The Ghost of Christmas Present with Tommy Steele at the London Palladium. Steve Varnom

After completing his training at LAMDA, Steve starred with Phil Daniels in the Royal Shakespeare Company's 'A Clockwork Orange 2004'. Other theatre work followed, including 'The Beggars Opera' at the Manchester Royal Exchange, 'Oh! What a Night' at the Opera house, Blackpool, 'Carmen' at the Royal Albert Hall and Bill Kenwright's 'Robin, Prince of Sherwood' on tour and in the West End, in which he played Little John. His unorthodox portrayal of the title role in Hovanness ilikian's 'Hamlet' caused widepsread controversy. Steve's extensive television appearances have included roles in 'The Storyteller', 'Eastenders', 'London's Burning', 'Down to Earth', 'The Bill' and 'Doctor's. He also wrote, directed and starred in the feature film 'It's Been Real', and is currently working on a pilot for a new television comedy series. He has a number of film scripts in development, some of which are attracting interest from studios both here and in the States. In his spare time, he likes to wrap himself in cling film and make life-sized sculptures of the Pope from bottle tops!

Anthony Stuart Lloyd

Anthony is from Cardiff and trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He is a winner of the Royal National Eisteddfod Blue Riband, prizewinner of the Welsh Arts Council Young Welsh Singers Competition (St. David's Hall, Cardiff) and winner of the inaugural Sir Geraint Evans Memorial Prize.

Recent theatre credits include: 'King Of Clubs The Love for Three Oranges', 'Leporello Don Giovanni', Méphistophélès Faust, Selim Il Turco in Italia (Stadttheater Freiburg, Germany), An Evening with Mike Sterling (Stars of the West End), The Sound of Richard Rodgers (Memorial Hall Theatre, Barry) and first ever vocalist for HM Sultan of Oman's 30th Jubilee Royal Command Performance (Bait al-Barakah Palace Theatre and Oman Auditorium). Other credits include: Timur Turandot, Basilio The Barber of Seville, Commendatore Don Giovanni, Bonze Madam Butterfly (Welsh National Opera), Brander La Damnation de Faust (London Symphony Orchestra), Mercure/Chef Greque Les Troyens (Toulouse Capitole Opera). Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat marks Anthony's West End debut.

Christopher Jay

Christopher studied Engineering at Nottingham University before training in Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music. Theatre credits include Count Ludovic/Lieutenant Barri in 'Passion'(Bridewell Theatre) and Carl-Magnus in 'A Little Night Music'(Royal Academy of Music). Television and Concerts include performing with Sir Elton John at the Royal Opera House (BBC) and Jewish Holocaust Memorial Service, Westminster Concert Hall (BBC). He also performs in a Blues Brothers tribute as Elwood. Numerous concerts and tours with Laudibus (formerly the National Youth Chamber Choir of Great Britain) and as a chorister with New College, Oxford. Christopher is a session singer for Annie Skates, Capital Voices. He would like to dedicate his performance to his Gran.

Henry Metcalfe (Also Choreographer)

After completing several Arts Council commissions in dance and drama, Henry became Artistic Director of the British Dance-Drama Theatre which had a policy of bringing extensive nationwide coverage of experimental, creative and conventional theatre arts to a wide range of children and adults. Turning freelance in 1974, he choreographed two series of 'Under The Same Sun' and 'The Little Mermaid', both for Yorkshire Television. He has produced ballet and experimental drama for Fri Ballet in Norway, the Rubican Theatre based in Gothenburg, Sweden, as well as touring extensively as a guest lecturer in creative drama to mature students and qualified teachers. During the past twenty years he has lectured in dance and drama at the Laban Centre in Surrey and has also, in conjunction with Pat Keysall of 'Vision On', been instrumental in creating the first professional theatre group for deaf actors, mime artists and dancers. Henry first worked with Bill Kenwright some 16 years ago choreographing 'Aladdin' at the New Victoria Theatre in London’s West End with Bill Kenwright as Director. This marked the start of a happy association which has included collaboration on productions such as 'Big Sin City', 'Paddington Bear’s Magical Musical', 'Swan Esther and 'The King', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Hair', 'The Fabulous Singlettes', 'Good Rockin’ Tonite', 'Robin - Prince of Sherwood' and of course 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' at the Vaudeville, Sadler’s Wells and Royalty Theatres, UK and Australia tours and most recently at the New London. Henry directed and choreographed the highly successful pantomimes 'Cinderella' and 'Aladdin' at the Thorndike Theatre, Leatherhead. Moving to Norway and taking the position of Artistic Director of Fyllingsdalen Nye Theatre for two years. Henry has directed and choreographed several productions including 'Grease', 'A Christmas Carol', 'Pinocchio' and 'Alice in Wonderland' before returning to collaborate with Bill Kenwright on 'Whistle Down the Wind', Trevor Nunn for 'We Happy Few' at the Gielgud Theatre and 'Jesus Christ Superstar' with Bob Tomson.

Stephen Tate

Training: Royal Ballet School and dancing with the Royal Ballet and the Royal Opera companies.

Theatre includes: creating and playing roles including Judas in the original production of Jesus Christ Superstar, Zach in the original British cast of A Chorus Line, Gus and Growltiger in Cats, Richard I in Blondel, Count Almaviva in Figaro, Prospero in Return to the Forbidden Planet and Clyde Gabriel in The Witches of Eastwick (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and Prince of Wales). Other West End: Charlie Girl, Canterbury Tales, The French Have a Song For It and Phil the Fluter. Other theatre includes: Emcee in Cabaret, Dad in Billy Liar, Van Helsing in John Godber’s Dracula, Razor in The Provok’d Wife, recently, Dr Frank in Die Fledermaus and Gremin in Eugene Onegin (both MLT Opera) and, most recently, Thénardier in Les Misérables. Directing includes: The Blue Angel (Bristol Old Vic), The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Savoy) and Mack and Mabel (Aldwych). Stephen was resident director of Return to the Forbidden Planet and Cats. Television includes: Survivors, Blake’s 7, Emmerdale, Yes Minister, Big Deal, Blackadder I, Casualty, Minder, Boon, The Bill, Wycliffe, Kavanagh QC, Silent Witness and, most recently, Monsignor Renard.
